The September New Moon occurs on Sunday the 9th at 1:01 pm CST. In Western astrology it is the Virgo new moon(17°Virgo 00′). In Kabbalistic Astrology this new moon is the beginning of the seventh month of Libra. Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of the seventh month in the Jewish calendar(Tishrei or Libra). It is the Day of Judgement. According to kabbalah it is the day( lasts for two days) we are judged out of the 365 days in a year. The new moon chart is thick with resemblance to this holi-day:
Virgo reminds us to be self critical, analytical, and hardworking. Rosh Hashanah is a time to focus on our transgressions and reverse them, fix them, mend them, and protecting ourselves from our accuser. We can change our negative behavior(s) of the past. True repentance is likened to going back in time and changing the desire that proceeded negative actions. We can examine our past and recreate our future.
Saturn near the Galactic Core allows for us to lay a foundation on better principles. Through organization and investigation into new areas of thought, social or political, spiritual and physical, concentrated and correlated we can enact positive change. A revolution is possible through educating others(including ourselves) as to what is, was, and will be. Perfecting politics and the social concern is high on the agenda.
Vesta and Pholus are conjunct at 27° Sagittarius and coming into a conjunct with the galactic core. This has some kind of awesome, powerful, fiery, service oriented, exploding orgasmic consciousness to it. Vesta is also a keeper of secrets and Pholus is a centaur which are known to be drunkards and belligerent animals. The release of what is hidden could start a flame difficult to snuff out. Or the spiritual and the animal side of our natures coming together(or tearing apart) for a higher purpose. We are spirit experiencing a physical existence: body, mind, and soul. By connecting the three we will rise to what we need to be.
Chiron on the Aries point could be a healing or a wounding point opposing Ceres the mother of the goddess asteroids in Libra. Ceres in Libra can be expression through right conduct in cooperation with all other beings for equal treatment. An injustice could spark a nurturing or killing reaction. Ceres is known to bring life and death relating to the seasons of Spring and Autumn.
We are being required to fight. Sacrificing the self for the acceptance of others is not kosher. We must use our free will and take constructive responsibility to better humanity no matter the opposition. Not just the self, but all of humanity. Although helping thy self is the beginning to helping the universe. Jupiter sextile Pluto reinforces the idea of Rosh Hashanah in that through prayer and meditation we can connect the physical with the spiritual and bring forth a more divine or higher will for the good of mankind.
Those who seek selfish desires alone could face suffering, a year of torment, or even death. This belief is enhanced by the Venus/Mars square. Hard and soft judgments will proceed any transgressions. Emotional issues are of high concern. Mars has had its retrograde although it hasn’t yet entered Aquarius again(it is in the last degree of Capricorn). Venus has just entered Scorpio and will become Rx in this sign. Hurt feelings could be a theme during this time. Learning to rely on oneself for love and affection could be of positive help during her stay in Scorpio. I have a similar placement(Venus square Mars). Dissatisfaction and/or frustration with the opposite sex can be a theme of this placement as well as spiritual bliss through the study of spirituality and of the inner and outer self.
Positive(masculine) or negative(feminine), when aligned with the center can overcome the need of the other. By using the force of the other one can turn it around as a force onto itself. “A woman[negative] giving birth exerts masculine[positive] power, since she is creating life outside herself”(P.S. Berg). The masculine combined with the feminine is the energy that will destroy judgments.
It is said that in order to activate our highest potential we need to unite positive(right), negative(left), and resistance(center). In astrology this would be likened to a T-square(an opposition of two planets together in square with another planet). In kabbalah it is the three columns or pillars. By uniting the three pillars(tree of life), connecting with our true selves, the
universal connection takes place, peace and brotherhood reign. “We must break free of the illusion of the material dimension and establish a direct connection between ourselves and the entire universe”–Berg. The desire to share, the desire to receive, and the central force of resistance become one(Given us life, brought us, sustenance).
It is a very powerful time of regeneration and working to improve the status quo. Intense emotional desires, overworking, and wrath to those who reveal secrets that are rather kept hidden is a Scorpio theme and a current condition of this new moon chart.
“Fragmentation and separation exist only in negativity. If something is positive then it has a smooth flow of energy”–Berg. This is not to say that all negative energy is evil. On the contrary. It takes negativity to remove negativity. A smooth or balanced flow of energy is to give and receive(positive and negative). The month of Libra is the month of the scales balanced or unbalanced (judgment). To have balance is to have harmony. The word Messiah means certainty and it is certainty that creates harmony.
To win a battle you need to understand why you are there. The enemy tends to persist until completely destroyed. When truly concerned with our transgressions, or desire to receive for ourselves only, we can focus our efforts to turn that desire into something higher, that is, a desire to receive in order to share.
With the power of thought we can learn to defend ourselves. The last battle is one of the mind. We need to use our own minds like computers. Control your own thoughts and mind.
There in lies the battle between good and evil. The highly developed will defend justice at all costs. The underdeveloped could hold on to selfish desire and grasp onto power with a mighty grip. But judgement is sure to occur none the less.
